Mental health is a vital foundation for holistic personal development. Through a series of mental health awareness activities, we aim to:
- Enhance students’ awareness and appreciation of mental health
- Encourage proactive help-seeking and use of mental health resources
- Break down myths and stigma surrounding mental health
- Foster a campus culture of empathy and inclusivity
In recognition of World Mental Health Day on 10 October each year, Moon Chun Memorial College is committed to cultivating a positive and proactive mental health culture on campus. We firmly believe that mental health is not only the cornerstone of personal well-being, but also a key factor in promoting learning, interpersonal relationships, and the overall campus atmosphere.
Activities include:
- Mental Health Seminars: Featuring professional social workers and psychotherapists who share practical knowledge on emotional regulation, interpersonal relationships, and stress management to enhance psychological literacy.
- Sexual Health Education Talks: Centered on respect and understanding, these sessions explore sexual health, gender identity, and interpersonal dynamics to promote healthy self-awareness and relationships.
- Film Sharing Sessions: Screening selected films related to mental health topics, followed by discussions to spark deep reflection and emotional resonance.
- Self-Care Workshops: Using mindfulness practices, horticultural therapy, therapeutic writing, and other methods to guide participants in self-exploration, stress relief, and developing self-care skills.
In addition, the above programmes actively promotes on-campus counselling resources, helping students understand how to seek help, book counselling services, and encouraging everyone to speak up and support one another when needed.
We believe that mental health is not just a personal matter—it’s a shared responsibility of the entire community. Through ongoing education and open dialogue, we aim to make mental health an integral part of campus culture and create a more empathetic and inclusive learning environment.
