Creation of College Anthem (2020-2025)
Under the leadership of two College Master, Prof Kevin Thompson and Prof Kwok Cheung Cheung, finally on 30 September 2025, the MCM College community gathered and launched the long-awaited premiere of its College Anthem and music video — a project years in the making, shaped by creativity, collaboration, and shared vision. More than a song, the anthem embodies the voice and soul of MCMC.
The project was led by Resident Fellow Dr Peggy Lau, with the support from Resident Tutor Benson Lin and Dom Pedro V House.
The music was composed by alumna Jessica Lei, whose work was selected from all student submissions in the College Anthem Composition Competition. The anthem is built around a musical motif derived in the key of F, transcribing the letters of ‘Moon Chun’ as ‘F-A-A-G C-Bb-A-G.’
The Music Video was completed under the leadership of Benson and editor Cathy Ouyang. Leading a student-driven team, they celebrate the collective story together.
The anthem premiered with a live performance by the MCMC Macalla Vocal Group, led by Benson Lin and Daisy Deng.
