The College’s signature Leadership Training Programme is designed to create strong team spirit and leadership qualities among student leaders, who undergo intensive training as role models, exercising responsibility for both incoming freshmen and returning upper classmen.
The programme begins 10:00 am on Saturday morning with Resident Fellows, Dr. Peggy Lau and Ms. Alice Hong using a combination of assessments to facilitate discussions and problem-solving scenarios, to tailor a series of interactive and dynamic activities to help student leaders focus on unexpected situations, effective communication, balancing individual strengths, working through conflict and obstacles, creating a collaborative environment and building trust. The full-day session ended on a high note with an outdoor dinner in College courtyard.
The next day, Associate Master, Dr. Manuel Noronha, introduces teaching components of Community and Peer Education (CPED), and diverse ways of using Mahara™ (e-porfolios) and UM Moodle™. This is usually followed by sharing sessions of best practice by House Association Executives and discussions involving ideas for freshmen.
On the final day, the agenda concludes with an intensive delivery of interactive workshops offered by MCMC office team regarding effective proposal writing, rules and regulations for freshmen and returning students.
